Xiaomi is all set to introduce yet another ultra budget smartphone in the Indian market dubbed Xiaomi Redmi Go. As the name suggests, the device runs on the Android Go platform. The Chinese smartphone maker is now gearing up for the March 19 launch event where the brand is going to launch Redmi Go.
The Redmi Go is the company’s first Android Go smartphone which was launched in China earlier this year. For those who’re unaware, the smartphone has already made its way to the Philippines. We’re already aware of specifications and features, the only thing which is still a mystery is the Indian price tag.
Xiaomi Redmi Go Official Teaser Out
Xiaomi’s Global Vice President Manu Kumar Jain has started promoting the upcoming inexpensive smartphone on its official Twitter account. A couple of hours ago, he posted an image which clearly reads Go with a hashtag that says “Aapki Nayi Duniya” ( which translates to ” Your New World”). The teaser uses the Hindi language so as to reach a maximum number of entry-level phone users in India.
The post also links to the company’s official launch page which reveals some key specifications of the upcoming Redmi Go. The features include a big HD display, long-lasting battery, Snapdragon processor, Android Oreo. There are various Indian specific features like 20+ regional language, Google Assistant in Hindi.

Coming to the specifications, Xiaomi Redmi Go comes with a 5-inch HD display with 720×1280 pixels resolution and an aspect ratio of 16:9. It is powered by a quad-core 1.4GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 coupled with Adreno 308 GPU and 1GB of RAM. The internal storage will go to up to 16GB which is also expandable via MicroSD up to 128GB. In terms of optics, there is an 8MP camera sensor at the back and a single 5MP selfie camera on the front. All of this runs on a 3,000mAh battery packed inside and Android 8.0 Oreo Go edition.
Xiaomi Redmi Go Expected Indian Pricing
As mentioned earlier, the Xiaomi Redmi Go smartphone has already made its way to the Philippines market with a price tag of PHP 3,990 (roughly INR 5,400). Now, considering the fact that Xiaomi is already selling a budget Redmi 6A smartphone for INR 5,999 with a lot much better specs, it is fair to expect Redmi Go to price below INR 4,000. Xiaomi Redmi Go is going to come in two different colours namely Blue and Black.
