Samsung Galaxy S10 receives new update, in-display fingerprint sensor is now faster

One of the key highlights of the latest Samsung Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10 Plus flagship smartphone is the addition of ultrasonic fingerprint sensor. Almost all the major flagship phones are now equipped with the in-display fingerprint sensor. The fact that it works fairly slow when compared with the tradition fingerprint sensor does put off various tech enthusiasts.

Living up to its promise, Samsung keeps on improving the fingerprint unlock speed by its occasional update. The South Korea based manufacturer has once again started rolling out yet another biometrics software update for the Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10 Plus devices. This latest update does improve the overall fingerprint unlock speed significantly, at least that’s what various Reddit user is chattering about.

As mentioned earlier, the company has already updated the fingerprint sensor numerous time in order to make it more accurate and responsive. The new update brings the v2.0.8.4 which significantly improves the Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10 Plus’s fingerprint sensor.

One Reddit user wrote “My fingerprint reader is instant every single time now” and the same is the case with various Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10 Plus users. The software update is very small in size (almost 6.9MB). The software patch is currently rolling out in Germany and Poland and there is no word when the update will hit the other major markets. Some other report claims that the patch has started hitting the Netherlands and the UK too.

If for some reasons you haven’t received the update, then well there is nothing you can do about it. There’s no manual way to trigger the software update. If you’ve been using the Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10 Plus devices for a while now, you’ll inevitable notice the improved responsiveness.
