Since then the Android Pie update has already made its way to the OnePlus 6, OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T. The Chinese smartphone maker hasn’t surely forgotten about the devices that gave them the current success. Yes! we’re talking about the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T.

As mentioned earlier, OnePlus officially announced the registration of its new closed beta program for OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T devices. One thing which you should know before registering yourself as a tester is the meaning of the term “closed beta”. This OS testing program isn’t similar to the one you’re all familiar with i.e. open beta program.

In the closed beta program, you will be giving extensive feedback to the company and for that, you will need to flash new builds frequently. Sometimes, you’ll even need to wipe all your data before flashing certain builds. This is going to happen a lot. If you’re using these devices as your daily driver then it is advisable to not participate for this program and instead wait for the open beta build.

If you’ve decided to apply for this closed beta program, then you need to do it asap since the registration is open only till Saturday, March 23 at 2 PM GMT. You can head over to this link and can apply for the tester position. A lot of tech enthusiasts have already applied for this beta program.

Soon after the closed beta program, OnePlus will launch the public beta program where every OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T owners will able to taste the Android 9.0 Pie operating system on their devices. Unlike closed build, you will not have to flash your phone that often.
