HMD Global is all set to introduce its first ever flagship smartphone in the Indian market i.e Nokia 8. Nokia has started sending out the media invites for the New Delhi launch event which is happening on September 26.
Last month, HMD Global introduced Nokia 8 globally with the price tag of EUR 599 (approximately Rs. 45000). The smartphone is more like a premium flagship device, directly competing with the likes of Samsung Galaxy S8 and iPhone 8. And, we are expecting the similar pricing in India too.
Nokia 8 to come with SD 835SoC and Dual camera
Looking at the price tag of Nokia 8, one might expect a combination of good hardware and software built right into the device. No doubt, HMD Global managed to pull it off. We are looking at great on-paper specifications of Nokia 8 making it the flagship device for sure.
Nokia 8 comes with 5.3-inch 2k IPS LCD display having 1440 x 2560 pixels and 554 ppi density. For protection, the smartphone comes with the Corning Gorilla Glass 5. The smartphone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC with Adreno 540.
On the camera front, Nokia 8 will come with dual rear camera setup which has two 13MP cameras with RGB and monochrome sensors. There is also a bothie feature present in the device. With this feature, you will be able to capture images and videos by the front as well as the back camera at the same time. On top of that, Nokia 8 comes with the lens developed in the partnership with Carl Zeiss.
The smartphone comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The device will have a hybrid SIM slot. Apart from that, the device features USB 3.1 type C connectivity as well as 3.5mm headphone jack. The smartphone runs on Android 7.1.1 and comes packed with 3090mAh battery. HMD Global also promised the Android Oreo update for all of their devices.
Nokia 8 Availability and Pricing
Nokia 8 was unveiled last month globally at an event in London. HMD Global dubbed the device as the “True Flagship Nokia” and it comes with the price tag of EUR 599. We can expect the first sale to be held in the early October, in line with the timeline shared by HMD Global.
The device will come in various colours options- glossily polished copper, polished blue colour, tempered blue and steel finishes. It sports a unibody design and has 6000 series aluminium. Also, the smartphone has the IP54 rating which means it is splash proof.
