Xiaomi has just teased some major news for it’s newly formed sub-brand Poco. This year, in August, Xiaomi sub-brand POCO launched its very first smartphone in India – the POCO F1. The POCO F1 has been a hit because of its flagship-grade hardware which is offered at a highly affordable price. After garnering a massively successful run with the Poco F1, the folks over at the Poco division aren’t done with their launches yet.
C Manmohan, General Manager, Poco India said that he has “a surprise for all of you. A #NewPOCO is coming. Can you guess when? It is not for sure what the ‘new POCO’ will bring onboard. It could either be the successor to the Poco F1, which might be tipped as Poco F2, or it could be a variant of the existing Poco F1.
Going by major leaksters, this new phone from POCO won’t be the POCO F2. Instead, it will just be a Kevlar back variant of POCO F1 coming in 64 GB and 128 GB storage options with 6 GB RAM. For those unaware, the POCO F1 Armoured Edition also comes with a Kevlar back. It is the most expensive variant of the POCO F1 which comes with 8 GB RAM and 256 GB storage.
Talking about the the device, it runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 octa-core processor and sports a 6.18-inch Full HD+ IPS LCD display with a 19:9 display aspect ratio. There is a notch on the Corning Gorilla Glass protected display, which houses an ambient light sensor, a proximity sensor, an earpiece, and a 20MP camera. The phone houses a 4,000mAh battery, which can be charged via a USB Type C port. Poco F1 was launched at Rs 19,99 base price back in August this year and runs MIUI 9.6 but will soon get MIUI 10 as it is in beta stages.
