If you travel to another country, the very first thing you would like to do is communicating your acquaintances immediately. For the tourists coming to India, you can now do this process in very easy way possible.
Union Tourism Minister Mahesh Sharma on Wednesday launched pre-loaded SIM cards for tourists arriving in India on e-visa.
These sim cards will be provided by Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited which will have Rs. 50 talk time and 50 MB of internet data at zero cost.
This service is restricted to E Visa holders for now as the Indian Government has complete information of passengers before they arrive. Also, this service is initially available at Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi. This service will soon be introduced to remaining Airports in the country.
“We will see how this service could be provided to those coming on a traditional tourist visa as well,” Zutshi said. The minister said that the e-visa service was being provided to citizens of 161 countries and 10 lakh e-visas were issued in 2016.
