Apple’s March 25th event: What to expect?

Apple has announced a date for its first product announcement of 2019. The event will take place in Steve Jobs Theater, Cupertino on March 25 at 10.30 PM IST. Apple Park venue has been used for the first time for an event that doesn’t include a flagship iPhone announcement.

The iPhone manufacturer has officially announced the event with the tagline: It’s show time, suggesting that the event could have more to do with Apple’s long-expected streaming service. This tagline was first used it for a September 2006 event where Apple announced that it would start offering movies on iTunes, along with the first reveal of the iTV. Apple is expected to unveil both of its original content video service as well as their new magazines and news subscription service.

The invitation isn’t a static image, instead an old-style film countdown was shown followed by unveiling a regular white Apple logo on a black background.

Apple’s streaming and news services are both likely to be subscription based for more revenues from software as hardware margins decline. Although, there is always a chance that we could see the announcements of a new entry-level iPad, the much awaited AirPower wireless charging pad and the Airpods 2. The original Apple AirPods was launched back in September 2016 alongside the new iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.

Apple’s services business is on pace to generate $50 billion per year by 2021, the company had said.
